Part-Time Positions

Living allowance and education awards for these positions are pro-rated as follows:

College loan forbearance is available.  There is no health insurance provided for part-time positions. 

The following part-time positions are currently available and must be completed by December 31, 2010:

1. Information Technology Associate (Whitney Point): One 907-hour position serving with the Rural Health Network S.C.N.Y. in Whitney Point, N.Y.  Primary Duty 1: The Information Technology Associate assists with providing support and improvement of internal information systems, with strong emphasis on website content.   The I.T. Associate helps to link those in need of health services, health insurance, etc. to resources using web based and other information technology tools.  Primary Duty 2: The Information Technology Associate provides support to the Regional Community Food Project (RCFP)
    
2. Eligibility Counselor (Binghamton): This 907 hour position assists  uninsured patients served by the Hope Dispensary of the Southern Tier and Lourdes Hospital in determining health insurance, prescription assistance, and other services they may be eligible for.  The Eligibility Counselor uses a computerized screening tool to determine patient eligibility.  This position begins mid-May and runs through November until hours are completed.  Monday - Friday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
    

3.  Multi-use Trail Specialist (Norwich):  This 907 hour position will provide technical assistance and leadership for local organizations to enhance or develop fitness and outdoor recreation areas such as trails along the route 12 corridor from Broome to Chenango County.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to collecting and organizing site/ project specific information using digital photography, GPS mapping, field observations and document research.  Additional responsibilities include developing plans, timelines and budgets.
    

4. Community Food Security Associate (Hamden):  One 455 hour RHSC member needed to make local, nutritious foods more available to low income families and seniors in Delaware County.   Member will work with the organic Food Bank garden at Delaware Opportunities, and through the senior meals program offered by Office for the Aging at six meal sites around the county.  The Community Food Security Associate will assist with various outreach, coordination, and youth training programs of Farm Catskills related to strengthening the local food system and access to local food. 
    

5. Summer Programs Associate (Cortland): One 303-hour position serving with Central N.Y. Area Health Education Center in Cortland, N.Y.  Assist with summer health career education programs for school age children.
